Book a sexual health screening appointment at all branches of PULSE CLINIC (Bangkok, Phuket, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore)
An appointment includes consultation, risk evaluation, rapid HIV and syphilis test, and metabolic test (for kidney function, liver function, and hepatitis B vaccine level). No need to book other tests separately.

You can receive a medical certificate that allows you to travel with PrEP in other countries.
On your initial visit, you can receive up to 12 bottles of PrEP

It's important that you get tested for HIV and haven't had potential exposure, such as unprotected sexual intercourse or needle-sharing, within the 14-21 days prior to the HIV test.

FOLLOW-UP VISIT (PrEP Refill)

To make sure the treatment is going well, regular monitoring is very important. HIV and syphilis screening is required before the PrEP prescription. Blood tests are run twice a year to keep track of your kidneys and liver’s conditions. For lab tests, we have PULSExpress service which is a walk-in lab test without a doctor hence is very fast.

You can get up to 12 months of PrEP per visit. Remember, if you were to continue,

make sure you’re not HIV positive and don’t have any other STDs
make sure your kidney functions well
you also need to take PrEP every day
remember not to share your medication with people who haven’t got tested
get proper treatment if you have any STD and inform your partner(s) so they can get treated too

HOW TO TAKE PrEP?

Clinical Practice Guideline of the United States (2013) and the HIV Prevention Guidelines of Thailand (2014) have suggested the use of daily oral PrEP to prevent the transmission of HIV. Our advice regarding HIV PrEP is based on two European studies. Remarkably, both of these studies demonstrated an 86% decrease in passing on HIV.

PROUD Study: taking PrEP daily. The sample group took a Truvada pill once a day and everyone who took Truvada correctly did not catch HIV. This becomes the recommended way to take PrEP.

IPERGAY Study: taking PrEP on demand. The sample group had to take 2 Truvada pills 2-24 hours before having sex. Then take one Truvada pill every day until 2 days after the last condomless sex. This method is not recommended for vaginal sex. (and not recommended for gay people who enjoy chemsex or do not plan to have sex very well because there is already evidence that many people forget to take the third and the fourth pill.)

HOW CAN I BE SURE THAT THE MEDICINE I BOUGHT IS AUTHENTIC?

A blood test could help you see if the PrEP you've taken is authentic. The test shall be conducted within the first 24 hours after the pill is taken. This involves therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) which is a part of clinical chemistry and clinical pharmacology focusing on the concentration of medication in the bloodstream.
